Bessie Lee Jennings

Bessie Lee Jennings, 78 passed away December 3, 2020. She was born in Nicholas County April 12, 1942 to the late Earn “ Jake” and Christine Whaley Garrett Sr. She was a graduate of Nicholas County High School. She was retired from Sears and Roebuck with twenty six years of service and Toyota Tshusho America with twenty four years of service. She is survived by her husband Joe Jennings, two sons; David ( Deborah) Purcell, Ball Ground, Georgia and Given ( Shelly) Jennings, Carlisle, Ky, seven grandchildren; Olivia (Brandon) Smith, Kelly (Fred) Hartzell, Matt Beyer, Shane Jennings, Evan Jennings, Hannah ( Ben) Biddle and Katie ( Corbin Woosley) Coldiron, Five great grandchildren Ava, Everrett, Easton, Anderson, and Clara. Three siblings, Sylvia "Sissy (Lamar) Mann, George ( Becky) Garrett and Timothy “ Dick” ( Damonica) Garrett, and a host of nieces, nephews and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Thomas, three brothers; Norvell Garrett, Paul Garrett and Earn “ Junior” Garrett. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday December 8, 2020 at Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Smith and Dr. Stephen Beeson officiating with burial following in the Carlisle Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bessie’s dear friends and colleagues of Toyota Tshusho America, Mike Lavender, Arthur Harrison, Gary Haynes, Shawn O’Conner, Arvel Carrol and Dave Douglas. Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Carlisle Christian Church or Bluegrass Care Navigators. Due to new restrictions set forth by Governor Andy Beshear, this will be a private event.
