Betty Lou Sorrell

July 26, 1941 - March 8, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Lou Sorrell our loving and devoted wife, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the age of 80. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her much adored husband of 61 years, Bascom; Mary Lou Cartmill her 97-year-old Amazing Mother; grandchildren Jimmy & Katie; great-grandchildren Broedy, Whitley, Reece; and numerous other family members and friends. Betty was predeceased by her loving father Morrow Cartmill and a baby sister. Betty grew up out in Frogtown, found the love of her life and they enjoyed so many adventures together. She was a breast cancer survivor and fought many medical battles. She was a determined and truly was thankful for every day she was given to spend with family, friends, and animals. Betty retired from Jockey after 33 years of loyal service. She was an Eastern Star. She served as PTA President. She bred and showed magnificent Champion Miniature Horses. She was a classic beauty and loved to travel. Most of all she loved her family, friends, and instilled values in each and everyone that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Her legacy is the love she gave every person. She made you feel like the most important person in the world, and you were to her. To celebrate Betty’s life, please take the time to treasure time with your loved ones. Much gratitude to the Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice Care Team. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Friday March 11, 2022, at Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home with Bro. John Owen officiating with burial following in the Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 4 – 8 pm. Pallbearers are James Martin¬¬-Sorrell, Reese Sorrell, Broedy Harris, Paul Mulhollem, Nathan Mick and Rusty Lawrence. Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
