Gerald T. (Jerry) Kimes Sr., 83, son of the late Thomas Clayton and Ella Lee Hughes Kimes, passed away October 1, 2018. Gerald was a retired carpenter, a Sargeant in the U.S. Marine CORPS, a member of the Myers Christian Church, a member of the Lloyd George Post #8666 and a member of the Millersburg American Legion Post #257. Jerry is survived by Helen Faye Kimes, two daughters; Beverly ( Bill) Scott of Winchester, Ky, Rebecca Sams, Carlisle, Ky, two sons; Gerald Jr. ( Mona) Kimes and Steven ( Laura) Kimes, Carlisle, Ky. Twelve grandchildren; Kassie Boots Kline, Amanda Sams Baker, Amie Sams Fryman, Clayton and Brandon Kimes, Lindsey and Alicia Kimes, Jamie Boots, Crystal Johnson, Stacie, Brandon and Bryan Scott. Ten great grandchildren; Caden and Ella Kate Matthews, Woody, Lilly and Kay Kimes, Emalee Kimes, Blaire Fryman, Palmer Baker, Cheyenne Johnson and Lauren Johnson. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ellen, Helen and Betty. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm. Wednesday October 3, 2018 at Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Brewer officiating with burial following in the Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 10 am – 1 pm. Pallbearers are; Danny Jones, Steve Oldendick, Eddie Sloan, Steven Kimes, Tony Fryman and Elmer West. Honorary bearers are; Bill Scott, Jerry Tom Kimes and his grandchildren. Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
