Ignatius Boutros Koury Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ignatius Boutros Koury of Carlisle, KY passed away on February 8, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born in Memneh Lebanon May 10, 1935, the seventh of ten children. He is survived by his six children, Dr. Hameed Koury (Larilynn), Fareed Koury, Jacqueline Koury, Fadia Lester (Kenneth), Dr. Shaheed Koury (Beth), and Dr. Anna Miller (Dan). He was also blessed with 7 grandchildren: Clare, Taryn, & Peter Koury, Brooke Koury, Eric Lester, Andrew & Jonathan Koury. He is also survived by his brothers Nadeem and Nagib Koury and his sisters Nagibeh Youssef, Nadeemeh Youssef, and Layla Joseph. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Tareze Koury, in addition to his parents Boutros and Lamia Koury, his sisters Nadimeh Koury, Mariam Habib, Mounirah Gergis, and his brother George Koury. He retired from tobacco farming and was devoted to his faith and his family. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Hamilton, George Joseph, John Joseph, Ramzi Torbey, Licha Farah, Jr., and Jebron Farah. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Shrine of Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM- 1:00 PM on Friday, February 14 at Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carlisle, KY followed by the funeral mass at 1:00 PM. The burial will be immediately after at Carlisle Cemetery.
