Norman Earl Duncan

Norman Earl Duncan, age 83 of Carlisle, Kentucky passed away peacefully at Harrison Memorial Hospital on Tuesday Morning, January 30th, 2024 after a short illness. Born September 24, 1940, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Willie David and Fiercy Hogg Duncan. Norman is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Jones Duncan. One daughter, Lesley Newsome and husband Randy of Morehead, Ky. Two grandsons, Trevor Michael Newsome and wife Erika of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Corey Hayden Newsome of Chicago, Illinois. Two sisters, Charlotte Sue Newton of Winchester, and Ellen Duncan of Florida. Two nieces Tara Hobbs Hellard (Larry), Devon Graham (Tony) and one nephew Ross Taylor. Special friends: Jarrod Bromagen and Fishing Buddies, Innis Feeback and Lyle (Inky) Anderson. He is also survived by numerous relatives and lifetime friends. Norman served 6 years in the Army National Guard of Kentucky with a rank of Staff Seargent, serving as a squad leader and qualification as a Sharpshooter and Expert Rifleman. Having graduated from Fugazzi Business College, Noman went on to work at Millersburg Military Institute, Homco, and retired in 2016 from a long career with Creech Services in Lexington, Ky. Norman loved to fish, farm and camp. He loved his tractors and loved his friends and family. He served as a longtime Deacon of Carlisle Christian Church. His pride and joy were his two grandsons, Trevor and Corey. Funeral services will be as follows: Visitation from 5:00-8:00 PM at Carlisle Christian Church on Thursday February 1st, 2024, With Funeral service on Friday, February 2nd at 12 Noon at Carlisle Christian Church, with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. The burial will be at Carlisle Cemetery with full military rites. Service under the direction of Carlisle- Clark Funeral Home in Carlisle Ky Pallbearers: Trevor Newsome, Corey Newsome, Travis Jones, Lawrence Jones, Jarrod Bromagen, Cecil Shrout, Innes Feeback and Willie Gayle Hogg. Honorary Pallbearers: Lyle Anderson, Donnie and Donna Earlywine, Charlie House, Jay and Kelly Johnson, Scott Allison, Doug and Lois Gates, Jeff Randolf and Nida Fryman. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church. Services under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Carlisle Kentucky
